When Tyee told me she was going to swing by Costco a few days before her wedding and whip something together for flowers, I about died. I'm all for saving money but who "whips something together" especially when that who is the bride? Absolutely not, I told her. I offered to do the flowers as a wedding present. Nevermind that I've never actually done flowers before. But I've been to over a dozen weddings and have held the bridesmaid bouquet too many times to count. Like all things creative that seem like a tremendous task, I was all over it. The bouquet on the right was my first attempt using a varietal set at Costco. The one on the left was my second try where I picked the flowers up at the local florist. Not bad if I do say so myself.
