In A la Plage, A la Piscine, Gray Malin photographs beach imagery from doorless helicopters. The photographs remind me of Massimo Vitali, who did a series of Italian beach panoramas almost two decades ago. Massimo's series was shot from the ground and were deeply rooted in the themes around Italy's political changes. Whereas Gray Malin's photographs are the inverse expression, celebrating summer and tranquility with color, patterns and repetition from every day shapes and forms.
