Designer and artist A Common Name creates 3D paper sculptures mimicing geodes, crystals, quartz and other mineral formations in foundation holes and water pipes around the Los Angeles area. Like their natural forming counterparts, these pieces will age and decay over time. So far there are nine of them, mapped here. Let's hope to find more because I always enjoy a little bling bling.

Google Maps 8-bit for NES
Who doesn't love a bit of 8-bit? Quite possibly one of my favorite April Fool's jokes out there this year. You can see it in action by going to maps.google.com and clicking on the 'Quest' logo. The entire experience is done up down to the street view of any location around the world.
