The first time I heard the screaming lyrics in Fever to Tell, I came down with a banging headache. But Karen O's voice grew on me after a couple of plays. This album is great from the start. The familiar garage rock tempo remains but is surrounded by layered ballads that quickly swell and recede. Pitchfork listed it as one of the top 50 albums in 2009.
"It's Blitz! isn't the work of a band in its death throes. It's a band on top of its game...it's the sound of Yeah Yeah Yeahs ascending the throne of longevity, showing off a previously uncharacteristic versatility that could keep them on magazine covers and at the top of festival bills for years to come."
